Boom
Barda is not a cruiser and we have a very, very low boom compared to most other boats. Make no mistake, given the chance it will take your head off and if there’s a chance of an involuntary gybe keep down low - if anybody shouts duck they are not suggesting you look up to spot a passing Mallard.
Downwind you may be asked to lean against the boom facing aft to keep it from slapping around and this is a great spot from which to give the helm a running commentary on what the both the boats and the wind are doing behind us.
