Handicap Racing - IRC and PY
Barda races under both the Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) and IRC systems. We favour IRC as it’s the fairest system we have available. Our IRC rating TCC is 0.989 and the following shows how it looks against some of our main competitors at Sussex Yacht Club.

 Hydration
We learnt some hard lessons on Juvenile Delinquent and one of them was making sure everybody drank enough fluids to avoid de-hydration, which rapidly leads to a huge loss of strength and concentration (a sure sign of a problem on a warm day is a sudden headache). There is always stacks of bottled water aboard and when they get passed around make sure you drink deep - there should always be a full one in the cockpit so just ask.
