Tea and coffee
A brew before we go is obligatory and just so you know I drink Earl Grey tea, no sugar and just a splash of milk. Fill the kettle from a bottle as the water from the tap makes the taste awful and everyone will hate you (the tap water is for washing up only).

You’ll need to turn the gas on as well - see Gas.

Tools
All tools are kept in the tool box that lives in the starboard side locker in the forward cabin. This box is also where you'll find a spare pump impeller, fuses and bulbs etc. If we need to bodge something up then this is where you need to look first. There are a few more goodies including tape and lubricants etc. in the drawers under the nav table.

The only exception to this are the bolt cutters and hacksaw for use if the mast comes down and we need to cut away the rigging - you’ll find these stowed under the starboard side saloon berth cushions (the bolt cutters only come with us when we are heading offshore).
